Partner Vince Doyle helped a local attorney minimize the disciplinary consequences of a criminal conviction. Attorneys who commit crimes in New York are also subject to an attorney disciplinary process overseen by the courts, and can be permanently disbarred from the practice of law. With Doyle’s assistance, the attorney in question entered substance abuse treatment, and was allowed into a “diversion program” by the Fourth Department Appellate Division, which oversees attorney disciplinary matters in Western New York. After the attorney’s successful completion of the program, Doyle convinced the disciplinary authorities and the court to agree to a minimum 6 month suspension of the attorney’s license, after which he will be restored in full to the practice of law.
Doyle, who frequently lectures on legal ethics, represents many attorneys and judges facing disciplinary investigations or charges.
