At its recent Annual Dinner, the Bar Association of Erie County honored Connors & Vilardo partner Vincent E. Doyle III with the 2012 Lawyer of the Year Award.

“This award was established by our board to honor a lawyer who has made significant contributions to the legal profession and the community,” according to BAEC President Arthur A. Russ, Jr. “In so doing, the recipient of this award elevates the standard of integrity, honor and commitment in our profession and promotes the best interests of clients, members of the bench and bar, and the community as a whole.”

An all-honors graduate of Canisius College and a magna cum laude graduate of the University at Buffalo Law School, Doyle finished first place overall in the Charles S. Desmond Moot Court Competition, leading to his election to the Moot Court Board. He also served as Note and Comment Editor for the Buffalo Law Review. Upon graduation, he received both a Faculty Award for outstanding contributions to the law school and the Robert J. Connelly Award for excellence in Trial Practice.

A trial and appellate attorney, Doyle’s practice includes civil and white collar criminal litigation, representation of professionals in disciplinary proceedings, and advising on legal ethics matters. Doyle recently completed a one year term as President of the 77,000 member New York State Bar Association, the oldest and largest voluntary state bar association in the country.

Doyle is the second partner at Connors & Vilardo to be honored as the Bar Association of Erie County Lawyer of the Year. In 2010, Terrence M. Connors received the award.
