On March 10, 2017, a Niagara County jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of a woman who was seriously injured in a motor vehicle collision in 2015.
Following a three day trial, before Niagara County Supreme Court Justice Daniel J. Furlong, the jury made an award to a 59-year-old woman who suffered injuries to her cervical spine in the collision. The defense argued that the woman’s injuries were not serious and that she was not due any compensation. The jury disagreed and awarded the full amount of compensation that was requested during closing arguments.
The woman was represented by Joseph D. Morath, Jr. and Christina L. Saccocio. Mr. Morath is a partner with the firm whose practice focuses on personal injury, wrongful death, and nursing home litigation. Mr. Morath has been recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as an upstate New York rising star in personal injury litigation for the past four years.
